about
The first part of this jig is similar to the first part of 'Scatter the Mud' only in a different key. To be found in O'Neills (No 245) as a three part jig and in Geraldine Cotter's 'Traditional Irish tin-whistle Tutor' again as a three part Jig. The fourth part was added at a later date. 'Scatter the Mud' seems to be a version of 'The Tenpenny Bit'. It is also known as 'The Maids of Tramore' and 'Noonday Feast'. The last tune is a popular jig I found in 'Ceol Rince na hÉireann as ‘Gan Ainm’ (No name) No. 43'.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman

Such a brilliant album. Sparkling, crystal clear play and the musicians are obviously in a perfect musical relationship with each other. Their efforts are pure pleasure to listen to. Buy it! monty1957

Brilliant tunes, played brilliantly. Great recording too - well worth listening with headphones to take advantage of the stereo fun.
